Transitioning To A New Daycare
We have recently transitioned our 2-year-old son Jeremiah into a new daycare. It has been a struggle for not only my son but me as well. Daddy has been okay with the change, so he is very supportive when I get so worried on how our son is adjusting to the daycare. He started off in a facility daycare from 3 months to 1 years old. Unexpectedly that daycare had to close down so he transitioned into an in-home daycare which he loved. The great thing about this transition was he knew the teachers because they were from his first daycare he started off at. So, he was very comfortable with this move. Now that we have had some recent changes in our lives, for the good, we have decided to move him back into a facility daycare. He just started this Monday and the struggle has definitely been real for Jeremiah and I as well. The first day of drop off literally was my son crying and clinging onto my leg and me trying to not be emotional, so he sees I feel the same way. His new daycare does have cameras but I don’t have access to them yet, so I am blind to how he is adjusting, how he is feeling, and if he feels any resentment for me leaving him at this unfamiliar place. I am literally at work by my phone looking at the time or calling up there to his teachers to see if he is still crying. It breaks my heart that I couldn’t focus at work on Monday or Tuesday. Great thing, I got off early on Tuesday because of the 4th of July holiday approaching that I was able to pick Jeremiah up early to hold and hug him tight. I know some people reading this is thinking this lady is crazy LOL! Sorry this is my first child and I would do anything for my son. So I have been reading so many other blogs of mothers getting through their little ones as well transitioning to a new daycare and it has helped me somewhat. LOL! I say somewhat because I still have that thought in the back of my head that my child is so mad that I am just leaving him somewhere with people he doesn’t know at all well yet.
